The brand of Merlin since its inception has represented the very best in craftsmanship, quality and complete beauty in the form of a bicycle frame. The cielo still reigns as the bike worlds equivalent of the Sistine Chapel. The secret ingredient that the great frame designer Tom Kellogg built into all the Merlin bikes was his passion for PERFORMANCE, ask Tom the best criterium bike he knows and it is the Cielo. How can something so beautiful, be such a great performance road racing bike, yet it is masked by the frames beauty.

20 years ago, Merlin built the "Original" contemporary titanium road and mountain bike. The standards that we set to build the finest titanium frames possible, still exists today, as we continue to refine on bicycles that are light, strong and have that original magical ride quality.

The best material to build bicycles with is titanium. Our Mantra is Make choices that make the bikes better. It is the criteria we live by when making decisions regarding the entire frame design and building process. That's why, of all the materials available today, we choose titanium. An unsurpassed strength-to-weight ratio and superb physical properties at lower weights give titanium the unique ability to absorb road shock while retaining excellent torsional resistance to counteract pedaling loads. Add to that titanium's phenomenally high fatigue strength and the fact that it doesn't rust or corrode, and there is simply no better frame material choice. Ultimately, titanium's biggest benefit is that it enables you to have more fun and get more enjoyment out of your bike and your riding experience. And that is what it's all about.

Merlin's big news for the '07 model year is the Works Line.  The Merlin Works is the highest performance racing bicycle that Merlin has ever produced. Period. But the weight balance, the handling, the acceleration and the road feel are all Merlin.

The Works line is easier to understand than it seems at first. The line is really just one model ... with two options. But with these Works options, we have added additional levels of performance never before available in titanium frames.

What are the options? With a Merlin Works, you have a choice of either traditional or compact geometry and either 3/2.5 or 6/4 tubing. Simple as that, two alloys and two geometries make four Works bikes from one model.
