About Chain Reaction

Chain Reaction Bicycles is the most successful bike shop in the Gainesville area.

The shop was established under the name “Pedalers” and after several changes in ownership and names became Chain Reaction Bicycles in 1997.  Now co-owned by Eric Johnson and Thomy Bolduc, we are striving to make cycling accessible to everyone.

Thomy and Eric are both certified bicycle fitters, having studied under Dr Andy Pruitt from the Boulder College of Sports Medicine.  We have over 120 hours of combined fit instruction through (SBCU), the Specialized Bicycle Components University.   Our main focus is professional custom fitting for all cyclists.  We feel that in order to make cycling a viable activity to all, basic fit is crucial.   We are able to fit people with medical, flexibility, and ergonomic issues.

We have been the title sponsor of the University of Florida’s cycling team since 1999.  We also had a brief stint in the pro ranks in 2006 as the technical supporters for Team VMG.  Currently, we have our own team that consists of working professionals, school age kids, and anyone who loves to bike race! The focus of our team is sportsmanship and enthusiasm in the realm of cycling.
